Multi-disciplinary interactive CPD evening event feedback
Our first face-to-face event of 2022, held in April this year had an interactive case-based approach covering a whole host of different cases of collapse and demonstrating the power of a multidisciplinary referral hospital in dealing with cases with a complex or uncertain initial diagnosis.
The evening was entitled Why is my patient collapsing and was shared equally with specialists from our internal medicine, cardiology and neurology teams showing the seamless way they work together to get to the bottom of each case.
The speakers included Amanda Paul – RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine, our Head of Internal Medicine and Kerry Peak – MRCVS Diplomate, ACVIM, Board Certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine, plus Josep Brocal – European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology and Valentina Palermo – Head of Cardiology and RCVS and EBVS® European Specialist in Small Animal Cardiology.
The vets who attended came from many types of primary care practices across the region and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, exceeding their expectations, with them enjoying the interactive element and format of the video cases being shared and getting to vote on the cause of the collapse of the patient.
Following the captivating two hours of presentations a number of the vets were able to take a tour of our hospital, seeing the professionalism and challenges of the night teams caring for the pets in our care overnight.
