Rachel started her nursing training in her home county West Yorkshire in 1997. Rachel moved to Hampshire in 2000 and qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2001. She has worked in a private multi discipline referral centre since 2002.
Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists welcomed Rachel in August 2006 and she is one of the original nurses that helped set up the practice. She achieved her Advanced Diploma in Medical Nursing in 2008.
Rachel is interested in medical nursing, particularly endocrinology and transfusion medicine, medical neurology, and oncology. She regularly lectures in medical nursing at nurse conferences such as BVNA and BSAVA
Rachel has a keen interest in Infection control and high standards of care, which involves reviewing practice protocols and always aiming for excellence.
Rachel is the lead oncology nurse at Anderson Moores and Learning and Development Team Leader. Rachel’s passion is teaching the nurses of the future and encouraging nurse career progression offering career support, guidance, and knowledge. Rachel enjoys seeing her oncology patients and making sure their quality of life is the best possible, working closely with the owners to make sure they are fully supported.
