Catrina graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2014. She initially worked in small animal first opinion practice in Central Scotland before undertaking a rotating internship, followed by an orthopaedic internship at Chestergates Veterinary Specialists. From there she returned to Edinburgh University to complete an internship in Soft Tissue and Oncological surgery followed by a clinical fellowship in Small Animal Surgery at the Royal Veterinary College, London, where she was primarily based with Cardiothoracic surgical team. She returned to the North-West in June 2020 to begin a Residency in Small Animal Surgery at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital and moved to Anderson Moores after completing this in June 2023. Catrina passed the qualifying examination for the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) in 2024 to become an ECVS Diplomate and Recognised European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
