Emergency Critical Care

The Emergency and Critical Care Service is led by Adam Mugford, who is an American, RCVS Recognised Specialists in Emergency and Critical Care.

Supported by a team of dedicated specialist veterinary nurses we provide an advanced level of care to critically ill patients, saving the lives of pets that would otherwise not have responded to conventional treatments. The service works closely with all the other specialties available in the hospital to provide a unique multidisciplinary approach to complex cases, enabling the best possible care to be provided. Advanced therapeutic procedures will include mechanical ventilation, tailored transfusion medicine, critical care nutrition (including parenteral nutrition), advanced cardiovascular monitoring and support. We work closely with owners and referring veterinary surgeons to keep them updated and informed throughout the period of hospitalisation.

"We came in as an emergency booking, staff very understanding and thorough." "The entire team were professional, caring and supportive during a difficult stressful time." "In depth service, clear and regular communications helped support me during a very stressful time. You saved my precious boy."
