Kate graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London with her veterinary degree in 2012. In 2013, she embarked on a one-year Junior Clinical Training Scholarship at the Royal Veterinary College Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, enhancing her surgical skills and knowledge. Inspired by her experiences, she continued to work in general practice for an additional six years, focusing on honing her skills in ‘key-hole’ surgical techniques while pursuing a certificate in surgery.
In 2021, Kate successfully completed her RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and passed the qualifying exam in 2022, earning her certificate in small animal surgery. From 2020 to 2023 Kate has been a ECVS Surgical Resident at AMVS. Kate completed her ECVS residency in 2023 and now proudly works as a surgeon at AMVS in both the Soft Tissue Surgery and Orthopaedic teams. Kate has passed the qualifying examination for the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) in 2024 to become an ECVS Diplomate and Recognised European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Kate really enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery and has developed particular interests in minimally invasive techniques and trauma cases.
