Dermatology covers all aspects of skin diseases including those caused by internal diseases such as cancer or endocrine disorders. Skin disorders manifest in many different ways and there is a wide range of possible underlying causes. A diagnosis may include parasitic infestations, allergies, behavioural induced self-trauma, auto-immune disease or drug eruptions.
Specialist Veterinary Dermatologists use clinical experience combined with simple non-invasive tests to achieve a specific diagnosis in order to treat the patient. We also provide a service reviewing current skin treatments that are no longer effective. Our dermatology service complements our surgical and medical services to allow a fully integrated approach to diagnosis and management of complex conditions.
