Incomplete ossification of the humeral condyle in Springer Spaniels

Incomplete ossification of the humeral condyle (aka humeral intracondylar fissure) predisposes affected dogs to condylar fractures (elbow fractures), and can cause forelimb lameness in its own right. There is a lot we do not know about this condition and at Anderson Moores we are trying to gain an understanding of how this condition develops and progresses. Springer Spaniels are predisposed to this condition in the UK. If you have a Springer Spaniel with forelimb lameness and this condition of the elbow is suspected then we would love to see you -please ask your GP vet about referral to Anderson Moores. We can offer you discounted treatment and you will be helping to provide valuable information to allow us to better understand this condition. More information on this condition can be found in the Orthopaedic section of the website.
